Terms of Service

Welcome to TVS Cargo. These terms explain what we do, what you agree to when you use our services, and what happens if something goes wrong. Please read them carefully.
1. Who We Are
TVS Cargo is a licensed cargo company in Ontario, Canada, in business since 2018. We ship to India, Sri Lanka, and worldwide from our two GTA locations.
2. What We Do
We provide:
- Air cargo to India and Sri Lanka
- Sea cargo to India and Sri Lanka
- Courier services (resold from DHL, FedEx, UPS, Canada Post, Purolator, Canpar) to 220+ countries
- Freight forwarding for commercial shipments
3. How You Use Our Services
By dropping off a shipment with us, asking for a quote, or using our website, you agree to these terms.
You agree that:
- The information you give us (name, address, recipient details, item contents) is true and accurate
- The items you ship are legally allowed to leave Canada and enter the destination country
- You are 18 years or older
- You own the items or have permission to ship them
4. Prohibited Items
You may not ship through TVS Cargo:
- Illegal goods of any kind
- Drugs, narcotics, controlled substances (including cannabis products)
- Firearms, ammunition, weapons of any kind
- Live animals
- Cash, currency, gold bullion, or securities
- Hazardous materials — flammables, explosives, corrosives, radioactive materials
- Stolen goods, counterfeit goods, or items that violate intellectual property
- Pornography or obscene materials
- Human remains
Specific air freight restrictions:
- Air to India: No flammables (perfumes, lighters, aerosols, air fresheners, axe spray). No electronics with lithium batteries (phones, laptops, power banks).
- Air to Sri Lanka: No flammables. Electronics with lithium batteries are accepted with a handling surcharge — rates vary by device; call or message for a quote.
- Sea cargo: Different rules apply. Ask before you pack.
We may refuse, hold, or destroy any shipment that contains prohibited items. We will not refund the shipping fee for shipments containing prohibited items.
5. Pricing
Our rates are listed at tvscargo.com/rates. Prices are in Canadian dollars and may change without notice. The rate that applies is the one in effect on the day you book.
For India and Sri Lanka shipments, our quoted price includes customs clearance and standard duties at destination, with the following exceptions:
- Electronics with lithium batteries to Sri Lanka have a handling surcharge collected at drop-off, separate from the per-kilogram rate
- Oversized, fragile, or hazardous items may require additional handling fees, quoted before drop-off
6. Payment
Payment is due at the time of drop-off or before pickup. We accept cash, debit, credit card, e-transfer, and approved business accounts.
Shipments will not be released to the carrier until full payment is received.
7. Shipping Times
Estimated transit times:
- Air Express: approximately 2 weeks
- Air Standard: approximately 4–5 weeks
- Sea Cargo: approximately 4 months
These are estimates, not guarantees. Customs delays, weather, port congestion, carrier issues, and other factors outside our control may shift delivery times. We will keep you informed but we cannot promise an exact delivery date.
8. Customs and Documentation
You are responsible for giving us accurate and complete recipient information, including a valid recipient ID. If customs flags or rejects a shipment because of inaccurate information, you are responsible for the consequences.
We are not responsible for delays, fines, or seizures caused by:
- Incorrect or incomplete information you provided
- Changes in destination country customs rules
- Restrictions or duties imposed by destination authorities outside our quoted scope
9. Loss, Damage, and Claims
We pack and handle every shipment with care. In the rare case of loss or damage:
- Report any loss or damage within 7 days of expected or actual delivery
- Provide your tracking number, drop-off receipt, and photos of damage if applicable
- Our maximum liability is limited to $100 CAD per shipment unless you purchased optional declared-value coverage at drop-off
We are not liable for:
- Items not declared at drop-off
- Damage to fragile items not packed by us
- Loss or damage caused by customs inspection
- Indirect, consequential, or sentimental loss
- Delays in transit
10. Returns and Refunds
- Once a shipment leaves our facility, the shipping fee is non-refundable
- If we cannot ship your item because of a prohibited contents issue, we will hold the package for pickup. No refund of paid shipping.
- Gift vouchers are non-refundable and not redeemable for cash. See the voucher for full terms.
11. WhatsApp, Phone, and Email Communications
When you message us on WhatsApp, call us, or email us, you consent to receive replies through the same channel. If you booked a shipment, you also consent to receive status updates by WhatsApp, SMS, phone, or email. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time by replying STOP or telling us in person.
12. Website
Our website (tvscargo.com) is provided "as is." We try to keep rates, restrictions, and information accurate, but errors can happen. The version of these terms and the rates posted at the time of your booking are the ones that apply to your shipment.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by Ontario law, TVS Cargo's total liability for any claim related to a shipment is limited to the lesser of:
- The amount you paid for that shipment, or
- $100 CAD
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Any dispute must be brought in the courts of Ontario.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms at any time. The "Effective Date" at the top will show the latest version. Continued use of our services means you accept the updated terms.
