What you can't send
Please check this list before you pack. If you're not sure about something, call us first — a quick call saves your parcel being held.
Never
Air or sea, any destination
- Explosives, fireworks, flares
- Ammunition — bullets and cartridges
- Radioactive material
- Compressed gas cylinders — propane, camping gas, oxygen
- Corrosives — acid, drain cleaner, bleach in quantity
- Narcotics and controlled substances
- Alcohol
- Tobacco
- Medicines and medical supplies
- Plants, seeds and soil
- Counterfeit goods
- Cash and negotiable instruments
- Human or animal remains
- Live animals
- Anything illegal in Canada or at the destination
Not by air
Send these by sea instead
- Anything flammable — aerosols, air fresheners, body spray, Axe, hair spray, perfume, nail polish and remover, lighters, paint
- Loose lithium batteries and power banks
- Firearms
- TVs — sea cargo only
- Phones — Sri Lanka only. We cannot send phones to India
Not by sea
These won't travel by ship
- Perishable food that won't survive the journey
- Motorised vehicles — cars, motorcycles
Electronics
Duty is handled here, not there
Some electronics carry a duty charge. We work it out and collect it here in Canada — your family still pays nothing on arrival.
Airline and customs rules change. If an item isn't on this list, that doesn't always mean it can go — please ask us first.
